A short list of reasons of why Iraq is Important

I originally wrote this blog on my facebook and myspace pages for my friends.  Some of my friends have very strong opinions and I don't think they really know what they're saying so this was my little note to them.  I thought I would put it on this blog too.
This message is for all of you who are skeptical of what is going on in Iraq. When the government first decided to enter into Iraq, I was all for it just like most of America was but then, as years passed, many people were questioning Capital Hill's original motives, including me. Did Bush lie to us? Is he there for oil and for power? ...and yatayatayata. So this summer, since we're out of school and I actually have time to pay attention to current events, I began to research to form my opinions and my eyes were opened.
Before I make my list of reasons for being in Iraq, I want to challenge all of you who read this to learn your facts. As I've been researching this summer, I have promised myself that I will not believe every opinion about the Iraq War until I actually read factual reports (not opinions). I have been and will continue to listen to both sides of the argument (get out of Iraq vs. stay there) but I will not base my opinions on any of the main network news sites (NBC, ABC, local news, etc), the newpapers and magazines, opinionative websites, or politicians' speeches. Hopefully all of you have noticed that all of those sources never tell the entire truth; they pick and choose their facts whether good or bad. So my friends, don't immediately believe what your favorite liberal or conservative politician and journalist has said.

Here is some of the latest action happening in the Middle East and events due to terrorists:

1. The Muslim Brotherhood, an anti-semitic and anti-Western group, has combined their efforts in Lebanon and Egypt with Hamas and Hezbollah.
2. Pakistan has nuclear weapons
3. Iran recently kicked out U.N. inspectors (because they're obviously hiding something)
Iran, which is Sunni, has allowed Al Quaida to set up camps all around the country.
4. There are 140,000 Iraqi and Turkish Kurds on Turkish soil ready to reclaim their land. Since the U.S. is helping Iraq, they are hoping that the U.S. will help them fight the Turks.
5. There is a reported rumor of a pending assassination attempt on the queen of England by Al Quaida
6. June attacks in the UK: The first attempted attack involved two cars, both loaded with gas canisters, petrol and nails in central London in the early hours of June 29. The second was at the airport a day later.

Ask yourself, what does all of this mean for U.S. national security?
BTW, Don't forget all of the other plots since 9/11 and prior to 9/11.

thought:
For centuries, Middle Eastern countries have been at war with each other. Have you noticed, recently that those wars are slowly diminishing and the dominant political forces in Middle Eastern countries, more than ever, are united on one idea - destroying the west?

For about two years I didn't know what I thought about Iraq, but I finally took the time to figure it out. The list I have is so small, you can add more to it on your own.

Do you see terrorists as only "bad people" or as "evil people" with some other force compelling them to do the things they do? Look at these pictures to help you answer that question:
http://www.homestead.com/prosites-prs/pictures033104.html Good v. evil. Not politics. I can't ignore the big picture.

For all of you pacifists out there, if we do get out of Iraq, what will you think when we're attacked AGAIN on American soil? Do you think peace talks or isolationism will avoid this?

For all of you who think Bush should be impeached, read this:
http://www.glennbeck.com/news/01302004.shtml (notice that many of the quotes are pre-Bush)

Basically, if we pull out of Iraq, the enemy will come to us eventually and their forces will be exponentially stronger. Why should we pull out of Iraq if there is remarkable evidence that Middle Eastern forces are coming together to kill us?

Thanks for reading my thoughts
